WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of you who have followed the incredible saga (which, according to my oh so official records has lasted almost two years!) you can understand how entirely epic this is. Through blood, sweat, tears, and migraines, this doily, marking my early beginnings in the world of tatting, has finally come to fruition!

I did say I'd doodle, didn't I?

I dare say I did.

I also went a little computer happy... and decided to make something of it.

^_^

My very first embroidery patterns are up and listed! It's a pack of four patterns in a single PDF file that's instantly downloaded.

I also accept custom sizing orders, so if you want a blown up version of the patterns, just let me know in a custom request right on the listing!

^_^

Here are some blurred (for security) shots of the patterns:

Testin' Time!

So I've FINALLY finished the charts for the first three rounds of Evelyn's Doily and typed everything up.

Now that I can start to test the pattern, the real question arises:

What color should I use?

Here's my test subject (old picture):

I dumped my entire thread stash out onto my bed and took a good long while (a whole five minutes O_O) picking out the honored candidates.

I particularly wanted to give my little-used self-dyed threads a chance.

Ultimately, after some serious internal debating, I came up with these:

(Before I say anything else, I'd like to mention that the red thread wrecked havoc on the contrast and made a very lovely peridot green look semi-barfish. And, the peach is actually a variegated peach-to-white thread)

All of the above are hand-dyed except the dark blue thread in the middle.

Now... what to choose?

>_<

Guess who finally made it to Etsy?

It took me a while, but alls it needed was some blood, sweat, and tired eyes.

Finally!

I started designing Anna's doily way back when in September. At the time, my goal had been to finish it before my dad went to the States, so he could give it to my sister, Anna.

Unfortunately, plans changed and I wasn't able to finish it in time--but when I finally had, I was able to make the pattern.

A few days ago, I finished said pattern--the very first thing I'd ever seriously designed.

And today I listed it!

Whoopsies

So, this one I did a while ago, actually... but for some reason or another I seem to have forgotten about it until now... whoops haha =S

I had some trouble (as you can see) with the big chains on the second round of the pink one--not sure why... but I think it just might have an eensy little bitsy bit of something to do with completely screwing up the stitch count on one of the big chains (what I get for not paying attention), and botching a split chain on another when I was jumping from R2 to R3.

On that note, does anyone have any tips on closing big rings?

Day 6! And Yay!

Sunday was a rough day, for no particular reason other than I woke up and felt like a walking zombie. My mom was the same way--so it wasn't just me being lazy.
However, I did manage to tat up Day 6 of TIAS before my headache kicked in.

I honestly don't know what's wrong with me... that's like twice in the past week that I've woken up completely sapped of energy =S

Anywho, aside from that...

I'VE OPENED UP MY ETSY SHOP

My very first listing is the first four rounds of Anna's Doily

Now, all I have to do is get Chrome to start working right so I can get my etsy widget up =D
I might have to change my blog look, though... hmmm

TIAS Day 2

Day 2 is here!!!
I woke up a little on the late side, but I got right to it as soon as I could =) I did the split chain version, and it actually helped me figure out how to do this one technique that I tried to use on Evelyn's doily, but decided not to do because it didn't turn out right... =D

At first I thought it was going to be a basket, but I think now it might be something with a dress, or a hat --> oooooooor it might be a 3D figure! I've seen a few of those in blogs lately.

Also, just a heads up, I've decided that NanaRama is just fine as is and will soon be publishing a free pattern!!! (Soon being... hopefully before 2014). After constant frustration, I chopped off the attempt at a 4th round and stopped before I started hating it --> the relief is indescribable.

Aaaaaand I have published my first free tatting pattern!
Remember that snowflake I did a while back? Well, I figured that would be a good start to my free patterns, sooooo:

You can now find it under the Patterns tab =D

^_^

Also, just a last minute thought, I've dyed more thread (it's drying) to cheer me up from a crummy morning. I hope it turns out okay, and I think I did better on the not over doing it on the dye thing... but there was still a lot in the water.... hmmm... =/

Tada!!!!

I'm done typing up the pattern and have finished the charts for the first 3 rounds of Anna's Doily!!!

Here's the thing, I need someone to test tat it for me. Any takers?

Yay! =)

Soooo I have figured out the problem to the resolution issue with the patterns--and now they're fixed! If you have any problems with the patterns (like a funky bobbin count) feel free to comment. I welcome tips, too!
