Blueburry R3

So, what do you think?

After various frustrating tatting sessions, I was unable to make my design work--so I threw out that little biscuit and went another route.

I like it ^_^

Blueburry R2

My progress thus far:

I feel like I should add something to it--like, right now, it's too simple... but I'm not sure. I had this grand idea for a third round (which I feel could be potentially epic should I play my cards right), but it flubbed out and I have yet to think of something to add here.

Hmm...

>_<

So, I figured...

I've been hearing a lot about Google Reader going offline come July, lately--and frankly, that's a bummer, but it happens =(

Anywho, I figured I'd get it all wrapped up and taken care of now before I forget and do it on the night before the big shut down, so...

Busy busy day!

I moved today! All the way across Cancun to practically the other side of the city. The good thing is that this other side of the city is waaaay closer to where all the action happens and not practically out in the jungle where I used to live.
Funny thing that happens with that is that my internet network was turned off right as I was getting ready to deliver the orders that I'd had overnight (yes, orders!!! =D ).
Good news was that the place we were moving to already had internet --> bad news, I had to deliver those orders waaaay later than I would've liked to =(

Anywho, I did get the orders sent off =D So yay!

Anna Repeats ^_^

First of all, I can't remember if I've said this before, but: special thanks to Claudia Huber for figuring out how to make the first 4 rounds repeatable =D

And second of all:

^_^

Now, I had a little trouble with this thread. No idea why, but it was a little rough and gave me a bit of lip--which is why it looks a little lumpy --> however! I am working on an Anna's Doily mat the likes of which will....! probably take a little time =/

But I will post as I get along =D

For now, though, I'd like to present a new addition.

Meet Blueburry.

(Thread = Blue; Words that have blue in them? = Blueberry; Dude in Charlie & the Chocolate Factory says blueberry but sounds like = Blueburry)

Hence: Blueburry.

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with this little guy--aside from adding rounds, that is. But I'm optimistic =D The design I have planned is pretty cool, but the finished product is always soooooooooo different than what I originally planned. It's actually kinda funny.

Hmmm...

So I found something new out about five minutes ago.
Apparently, the seller can send feedback to those who have purchased their items.
Hmm...
I'm not sure I get that but it's like midnight and my brain's all puttered out =S
I'll probably get it in the morning ^_^

Surprisingly, it didn't take as long to make as I thought it would ^_^

Post Chemistry Update #6--Things I learned from Jane's TIAS

So, I had a lot of fun with this year's TIAS--as my first TIAS, it also served to be quite educational:

Therefore, I now present the various little tips and stuffs that might come in handy someday:

  1. lock joins are deceptively tricky to undo
  2. pay attention to what you're doing so you don't have to undo lockjoins
  3. make sure you don't forget you have black dry erase crayon on your fingers
  4. don't start tatting with white thread while you have black dry erase crayon on your fingers
  5. don't make very small picots so small that you can't see them
  6. make sure you remember where your very small picots are in case you can't see them
  7. don't forget to make very small picots--three times
  8. don't start tatting with a shuttle with a sorta kinda loose bobbin, because you don't know how sorta kinda loose it is
  9. keep in mind that sorta kinda loose can become very fracking loose very fracking fast
  10. and most importantly of all:
    1. don't forget to wash off the black dry erase crayon from your fingers before tatting with white thread so you don't get distracted and make a picot so small that you can't find it and have to distinguish it from the dingy grey thread that used to be white--so much so, that when you finally realize it and wash your hands, and figure out how to tat with your anoyingly loose shuttle bobbin, and are very happy that your white thread looks white, that you then forget to make a very small picot before a lock join and have to go back and undo it.

GASP!
I just realized that I've posted my 100th post! like... three posts ago =D

YAAAAAAAAAAY!

Post Chemistry #5--Evelyn's Doily... R4 DONE!

Ooooooh yeah, that's right! I'm done with the fourth round of Evelyn's Doily!

Now, I'd like to introduce you to THE biggest thing I have EVER tatted.

BEHOLD! EVELYN'S DOILY!

I didn't have a lot of stuff to use as a background, so I used a black shirt and spread it out on my bed.

Here's another shot of it against my pillow --> hence the distortion:

I will now present you with a progression of Evelyn's Doily from the very start (sorta):

From Humble Beginnings:

Rounds 1 & 2!!!

Round 3!

Evelyn's R4 in another life!

Post Chemistry Update #4--Minty Made Some Friends!

You guys remember Minty, right? (Look at the bottom of the post in the link)

Well, check it ooooooooouuuuuuuuut:

This was a great chance for me to verify the pattern -- so I'm happy
^_^

hahahahah! I just realized you can see my reflection in the wood hahahahahaha!

Post Chemistry Update #3--beginner flowers

So I love duchesse lace --> but I haven't been able to get the manual on it =/ So, I've been winging it!

Observe:

I drew up the pattern on some millimeter graph paper (not that I got specific, just a basic free hand doodle).

I pinned it to my pillow under some vellum paper.

I made the center ring (with my very first turning stitches =O )

And then...

My pillow fell while I was trying to make the petals.
I tried to catch it, but I grabbed bobbins instead and it got pulled completely and irreparably out of shape.
-_-

So, I tried something else.

Not as elaborate, but at least I got to finish it!

^_^

Post Chemistry Update #2--Gemmy Bear

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
I've finally finished Gemmy Bear! Like a week and a half ago, I was in a productive mood and my fingers were itching for some bobbins, so I went at it for like two days straight and....
Voila!

Now, Gemmy here was a gimp practice--not that you can see the gimp >_<

I think the color was to blame for the HORRIBLE time I had photographing it. I eventually gave up and stuck it in my scanner which made it look a little weird -_-
It's actually a really pretty red--two reds, actually.
A while ago, I came back from buying threads only to realize that one of the thread I'd bought was almost identical to one of the ones I already had! You could just barely tell them apart!
However, one was darker than the other one, so what I did was I used one thread on all the starter pins on the left (in the picture, right) side and the lighter one on the other side.
...not that you can tell >_<
The gimp was a coppery type orange-red that looks pumpkin orange compared to the other threads, but again -sigh- you can't see it that well...

It's obviously a beginner's piece, buuuuut I think I didn't do half bad aaaannnndddd
Gemmy's done!!!
^_^

Post Chemistry Update #1 -- TIAS

Okay, so it's a little late, and I'm pretty sure I sent my buggy in to Jane when I finished up but forgot to post it here, so here goes:

^_^

I SURVIVED MY CHEMISTRY CLASS!!!!

It's true! I've done it! I've survived!
I literally took my final... like an hour before I posted this and I'm off until Monday!
(Technically, I can go back to school tomorrow, but I'm rewarding myself for this gargantuan accomplishment )

^_^

In order to avoid update overload, I'm going to post my most recent doings in parts over the next... hour, maybe two =D
